Toxicology Society of Nigeria (TSN) inauguration
We are glad to announce the inauguration of Toxicology Society of Nigeria (TSN). TSN is a professional body for toxicologists in Nigeria, the aim is to create awareness and promote the science of toxicology relevant to the country. Members will be able to exchange information, discuss latest development, and share ideas in the field of Toxicology. Toxicology Society of Nigeria was inaugurated on the 29th May 2010 at the prestigious Obudu Mountain Resort Calabar, Cross River State after a highly successful 2nd Risk assessment Summer School RASS II organised by the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX) in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and Aiida-4 Medical Consultants. Present at the risk assessment school were prominent toxicologists like Prof Elaine Faustman, IRARC, University of Washington, Seattle. Wallace Hayes, Harvard School of Public Health. and Dr. Michael Dourson Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA), others are Dr Sanmi Areola, Nashville, president, African Society of Toxicological Sciences (ASTS).


New Website for the Toxicology Society of Nigeria
World library of Toxicology (WLT) has extended her hand of fellowship to Toxicology Society of Nigerian (TSN) by accepting to create a website for her. The Administrative manager of WLT, Dr Steven Gilbert expressed his delight on the bold step taken by Nigeria to inaugurate TSN. Today, Nigeria is one of the African countries to inaugurate a professional body for Toxicology recognised by the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX)


Aiida-4 Get’s New ADVISORS
AIIDA4 Medical Consultant is happy to announce that two world renowned Toxicologist Prof. Elaine Faustman and Prof.Wallace Hayes have joined her advisory board.

Prof. Elaine Faustman got her PhD in toxicology from Michigan State University 1980. She has served as a professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the School of Public Health, University of Washington, USA for 27 years. In 1996 she founded the Institute for Risk Analysis and Risk Communication (IRARC). She is an elected fellow of both the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society for Risk Analysis. She has served on the National Toxicology Program Board of Scientific Counselors and is currently the chair of education committee, International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX). Her Research interests are in Developmental toxicology, risk assessment methodologies, molecular mechanisms of metals and pesticides.

Prof. A. Wallace Hayes received his AB from Emory University and his MS and PhD from Auburn University. He is
currently a Visiting Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to his work at Harvard School of PublicHealth, Dr. Hayes was a Corporate Vice President for The Gillette Company (1993–2002), a Professor at the WakeForrest University School of Medicine (1993), Vice President for RJR Nabisco (1987–1992), the Director ofToxicology at Rohm Haas (1982–1987), and a Professor at the University of Mississippi Medical School (1975-1982).Dr. Hayes has participated in several societies including serving as President of the American College of Toxicology (2007-2008). He is currently the Secretary-General of the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX). He has been a faculty member at Risk Assessment Summer Schools (RASS) in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
